- Anfang der 50-er Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts inspirierte ein Patent den Firmengründer Ferdinand Westerbarkey zu einer Geschäftsidee, die zu nachhaltigem Wachstum des damals 20 Jahre alten mittelständischen metallverarbeitenden Unternehmens führen sollte. Gemeinsam mit seinen Brüdern Leonhard und Lorenz als technische Berater entwickelte er auf Basis dieser Erfindung marktfähige, technisch ausgereifte flexible Rohrleitungen für unterschiedlichste Anwendungsbereiche. Bis heute sind diese flexiblen Rohrleitungen eine Kerntechnologie des Unternehmens – eine besondere Kompetenz, die wir auch in unserem Firmennamen hervorheben: Westaflex - heute in vierter Generation geführt durch Dr. Peter Westerbarkey.
